Is Yoga a valuable activity for my children? Big YES!
If you are looking for a fun and stress-free environment for your child to try something new- Yoga is available at HRC Fitness (for ages 4-12).
There are many benefits of allowing your child to practice yoga; stress, for example, can be managed with trained breath and movement which Yoga teaches. Yoga will give your child a new experience, instill confidence, develop focus and concentration, train flexibility, reinforce mindfulness and allow them the opportunity to socialize.

Explore Something New and Instill Confidence
Diving into a new activity will teach us new things about ourselves, conquer fears and reservations about trying something unknown and give insight into the experiences of others. Giving your child the opportunity to attempt something they’ve never tried before sparks creativity and cultivates a new experience to look back on. On top of that, becoming masters of a new activity will instill a confidence that they are capable of more than they have previously thought.
Develop Focus and Concentration
The act of practicing poses encourages children to clear their mind and focus on the effort. Several studies will note: yoga helps children to focus and concentrate in school and get better grades because of the trained focus required to hold poses.
Adding some flexibility training to your daily/weekly regime will allow a wider range of motion and has proved to decrease chances of injury in athletes. Improving flexibility can also ward off muscle fatigue when performing aerobic exercises and weight training routines.
Center Yourself and Practice Mindfulness
Yoga gives participants a calming and peaceful effect on our body, mind, and spirit! This activity allows our children to take a mini vacation during a session and clear all those thoughts. Re-enter reality, and feel fresh and ready to take on the world. Yoga practices mindfulness and compassion- if your child hasn’t already, it won’t be long before they take on societal and scholarly pressures, practicing mindfulness will help your child approach these pressure in the future.
Having your children attend a yoga class will give them the opportunity to meet other children their age.
