Racquetball League Rules
- HPRFC Strongly recommends the use of eye guards.
- Please check your league schedule for your starting time. Courts and playing times vary each week. Court assignments will be given when you check in at the front desk.
- A match consists of 2 games to 15 points and an 11 point tie-breaker, if necessary. Score 1 point for each win, 3 if you sweep (win in 2).
- Each player is responsible for recording their scores only in the league book. Please make sure your scores are recorded under the correct week.
- Each player is responsible for canceling own matches and court time. Players who do not cancel their courts will be billed $15 for the court hour.
- The Club and your opponent must be notified in advance if you cannot make a scheduled match. Cancellations made after 3 pm on the date of a match will result in a forfeit for the player initially canceling. Note: Courts will not be kept for league players if their opponent has cancelled. If you still want to play you must reschedule the court hour or place your name on the waiting list.
- Any player who cancels a league match and fails to contact the Club will receive a forfeit and will be billed $15 for the court hour, his opponent will be awarded 3 points.
- All players have 14 days to make up a match, regardless of individual player agreements.
- If a properly canceled match (both Club and opponent is contacted) is not made up within the 14 day limit, the player originally canceling will lose one point and their opponent will be awarded 1 point.
- Forfeits (3 points) will be awarded only in cases of late cancellations and no shows. To insure receiving the correct points, please fill out your score sheet showing a win by forfeit.
- Exception: All Matches must be completed by the last scheduled league day.
- If you are not on the court and ready to play within 10 minutes after your scheduled court time, you will forfeit the first game. After 15 minutes all 3 games will be forfeited.
- In medical emergencies, a doctors note presented to the league director, within 7 days of the incident, may waive the 14 day rule.
- Any player who does not show up twice for a league match, or who fails to contact their opponent twice will automatically be dropped from the league.
- Policy on matches that last over an hour: Providing your
match was started on time
