Lorrie Butterfield

Personal Trainer and Small Group Training Coach

Photo Of Personal Trainer Lorrie Butterfield - HRC FitnessLorrie manages our fitness center. She has a BS in Physical Education from Wake Forest University with a teaching certificate for K-12. She is certified in Personal Training by the American Council on Exercise since 1995 with continuing education focusing on injuries to the knee, shoulder, hip and back as well as core strengthening, and overall flexibility training. She has been a certified Silver Sneakers instructor since 2008 teaching two Muscular Strength & Range of Movement classes a week. Lorrie also teaches Boot Camp, a Suspension training class, Core, Hips, Butt and Thighs and Upper Body Toning classes at the club along with personal training appointments. She had a competitive running career for 22 years. Beginning in High School, then on scholarship at Wake Forest and finishing 39th at the 1988 Olympic Marathon Trials in 2:43.05. Now she enjoys cross-training with 5K runs, walks, stationary biking, weight-training, downhill skiing, x-c skate skiing and snowboarding. Lorrie has taught at HRC for 26 years. Lorrie’s philosophy is to work to balance your diet, your flexibility and your strength.

Photo Of Personal Trainer Mike Kloepping - HRC FitnessI started an active lifestyle as early as t-ball and haven’t stopped since. I have my Dad to thank for that. I grew up playing many sports such as baseball, football, wrestling and basketball. I also picked up many hobbies such as bmx, rollerblading, skateboarding and snowboarding. A big current hobby of mine is seeing the world while attending shows, concerts and festivals to get down and boogie!

One day I was thinking about what I wanted to do with my life and it just kind of came to me. I asked myself what am I good at and what do I enjoy. The answers were getting results and helping others. So here I am.

I earned my first certification on October 14th 2005 as an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer. Additional certifications include:

  • NASM Cardio Respiratory Specialist
  • NASM Sports Performance Specialist
  • NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist

Anthony KortekaasAs a certified fitness trainer in the industry for over 10 years and owner of Phyxit Fitness, I bring to HRC my personal experience as a motivational fitness coach and competitive bodybuilder. I believe motivation is what gets you started and good fitness habits will continue to keep you training at any age.

My philosophy is, “hard work and dedication”. As a diabetic, I too have had to overcome life’s challenges and decided to take control over my diabetes to strengthen my inner athleticism. The result of this journey over the years has ensured that I am committed to working closely with my clients who include beginners as well as athletes with specific advanced training needs in achieving good personal health, and to embrace the power of fitness.

Workout group sessions are creative, intense and are goal-oriented toward achieving rewarding results.

Achievements in Bodybuilding: 2012 Overall Winner Mid-Atlantic All Natural Championship Masters 35 & 1st Place Open Light Heavyweight; 2nd Place INBF Hercules Open Heavyweight; 2013 NPC Garden State Championship 3rd & 5th Place Light Heavyweight & Masters 35

Sammy Wijeratne

Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach

Staying fit and being active has always been my way of life. Fitness-wise, one of my goals in life was to run long distances. However, a back-injury I sustained in my early twenties had weakened my back muscles over the years. Refusing to let my injuries get the better of me, I started with low-impact workouts, and gradually got into a high-impact aerobics, kickboxing, with strength training. I was able to start with 5Ks and move on to half-marathons in no time. That’s when I decided to play a more active role in the health and wellness field, and help others realize their true potential, because I know that there’s nothing impossible once you are committed to achieving your goals.

I am a certified personal trainer and fitness nutrition specialist with advanced degrees in Food Science. I am also an experienced, published researcher in the fields of food science, molecular nutrition and biochemistry. My personal training sessions integrate fitness training and nutritional guidance for weight loss, while building upon physical strength, and restoring balance and flexibility. I also work as a kickboxing instructor.

My hobbies include, travelling, hiking, kickboxing, bird-watching, and photography. My credentials include, Certified Personal Trainer (ACE), Fitness Nutrition Specialist (ACE), Youth Fitness Specialist (ACE), Certified CKO kickboxing Instructor, B.Sc (Peradeniya, Sri Lanka), M.Sc (Newfoundland, Canada), and Ph.D (Lincoln-Nebraska, USA) in Food Science.

Nicole Printon

Small Group Training Coach

I have been a Certified Personal Trainer since 2011 because I wanted to pay my passion for fitness forward and help others get fit.

My continuing education has focused on a wide range of Fitness & Nutrition subjects including: knee injuries and rehabilitation, hip injuries & core stabilization, dynamic flexibility and injury prevention, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and cardio program development, Core Strengthening, Sports Nutrition & Nutrient Timing, and Chronic Pain Management & Nutrition.
I was recently certified as a Behavior Change Specialist & am currently taking a Health Coach Certification through ACE.
Additionally, I’ve continued to grow an online business in order to reach more people and fulfill my purpose to help others. I host monthly online accountability groups which allows me to bring my vast knowledge of fitness, nutrition, and behavior change to people who are either unable to join a gym, intimated by a gym setting or need more personal attention with one on one coaching.
Finally, I’m continuing to expand my knowledge of fitness by beginning a yoga certification course this fall in order to complete my Yoga Teacher Training in the Spring of 2018.
