Owner and General Manager

Responsibilities: Oversee the operation and success of Aquatics, Racquetball, Front Desk and Hillsborough Family Martial Arts. Facility and building maintenance and repairs.
Philosophy: You have a CHOICE. You can throw in the towel or you can use it to wipe the sweat off your face.
Credentials: NETA Certified since 2001, AAAI/ISMA Certified since 2001, CPR/AED trained through American Red Cross
Specialties: Tabata, H.I.I.T., Step, Cycling, Kickbox, Stability Ball, Bender Ball Pilates, Gliding, Tai Chi, TRX/Rip Training, Drums Alive
Responsibilities: Group Fitness Program; Oversees Personal Trainers and Fitness Instructors

Responsibilities: Advertising, Website, Newsletter, Public Relations, and Community Relations; Oversees Special Events Mgr and Camp Director
VP, Premiere Dance Hillsborough
Philosophy: “Dance is the hidden language of the soul.”
Credentials: A.A. Marketing & Management, Middlesex County College, Minor in Dance Education. Studied at several studios over the past 30 years all over the tri-state area. Attended several Master Classes and Educational programs including the Dance Teacher Summit. Received Choreography Awards.
Specialties: Instruction in several areas of dance education including Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Hip-Hop and Musical Theater, Competitive & Show Choreography, Private Lessons
Director of Member Services

Responsibilities: Oversees Member Services Team Members, Membership Sales and Member Services, BOOST Cafe.

Responsibilities: Membership processing, bookkeeping, monthly billing, accounts receivable and payable.
Racquetball Director and Teaching Pro
Philosophy: Determination is more important than talent.
Credentials: AmPro Certified Racquetball Instructor, USAR-IP Certified Racquetball Instructor, E Force Sponsored – Team Leader for New Jersey, Executive Board Member (Secretary) of NJ Amateur Racquetball
Responsibilities: Racquetball program director / teaching pro at various clubs since 1982. Organize racquetball leagues, tournaments and junior instructional classes. Group and private lessons for children and adults.
Fitness Center Manager
Lorrie Butterfield, manager of our fitness center, has a BS in Physical Education from Wake Forest University with a teaching certificate for K-12. She is certified in Personal Training by the American Council on Exercise since 1995 with continuing education focusing on injuries to the knee, shoulder, hip and back as well as core strengthening, and overall flexibility training. She has been a certified Silver Sneakers instructor since 2008 teaching two Muscular Strength & Range of Movement classes a week. Lorrie also teaches Boot Camp, a Suspension training class, Core, Hips, Butt and Thighs and Upper Body Toning classes at the club along with personal training appointments. She had a competitive running career for 22 years. beginning in High School, then on scholarship at Wake Forest and finishing 39th at the 1988 Olympic Marathon Trials in 2:43.05. Now she enjoys cross-training with 5K runs, walks, stationary biking, weight-training, downhill skiing, x-c skate skiing and snowboarding. Lorrie has taught at HRC for 26 years. Lorrie’s philosophy is to work to balance your diet, your flexibility and your strength.

Hillsborough Family Martial Arts

Credentials: B.A. from Rutgers University, forty years in the construction industry in all aspects of utility construction. Vice president of Schilke Construction Co., Inc.
Specialties: Martial Arts student of Shihan Fumio Demura’s Shito-Ryu Genbu-Kai Karate-Do International Organization for the past seventeen years. Previously Assistant Instructor at the HRC Dojo, recently appointed as Chief Instructor by Fumio Demura. Currently an AAU Karate Referee.
Avid motorcyclist and outdoorsman.
Objective: Our objective is to develop body, mind and spirit in students of all ages in an effort to provide the community with individuals of character. By integrating modern teaching methods, experienced instructors and traditional martial arts philosophy in we intend to provide quality instruction. We will provide an energetic, controlled and enjoyable experience that will enable all to achieve the results they desire. If it’s not fun we’re doing something wrong !
Director of Karate
Shito Ryu Karate Do Genbu Kai

Credentials: Martial Arts student of Shihan Fumio Demura’s Shito-Ryu Genbu-Kai Karate-Do International Organization for the past 19 years. Holds Nidan (2nd degree) in Shito-Ryu Karate and Sandan (3rd degree) in Okinawa Kobudo Rengo-Kai. Holds multiple Jr. State titles and Jr. Nationally ranked.
Objective: Providing a safe and fun environment with modern teaching methods. Instructing students to not only be a strong practitioner of karate, but be a model citizen of the community. Teaching all ages from young children to adults effective and safe self-defense techniques.
